HEDG Open Sector Event: Leading Educational Development
Monday 23rd February 2026, 2pm-3pm GMT
Heads of Educational Development Group (HEDG) is the UK’s membership network for staff that lead educational development in tertiary education. HEDG is celebrating 30 years of sector influence and leadership and support for its members.
This online webinar brings together three HEDG members to share their journeys in educational leadership: their contexts, passions and peeves. The event will showcase the value and importance of the work of HEDG members and offer insights on careers in educational development. Whether you’re a third space professional, an academic with an interest or role in leading educational change, or an educational developer looking to explore career options in leadership or the UK, the session will invite you to learn about HEDG, the UK professional context for educational development, and to reflect on your own career in higher education.
Chaired by Professor Jackie Potter, former Chair of HEDG (2020-2022), Dr Rich Bale, Dr Tina Byrom and Dr Jane Pritchard will each talk about their role, context and priorities before questions and answers.
Please complete the HEDG Booking Form on Humanitix to register, the link will be circulated to registered attendees the week before the event.
