10.30 Leadership in a rapidly changing Higher Education sector
Dr Mark Pegg, Chief Executive
Leadership Foundation for Higher EducationWe are living through another revolution in higher education – 50 years on from the Robbins Report we have a very different HE sector. The sector is still collaborative by nature, but we now have transformational changes in the business model, new sources of funding, a drive for greater distinctiveness, more intense national and international competition, new learning technology, new student (and parent) expectations and the demanding needs of a 21st century economy. That feels like a revolution without the barricades and blood on the streets. All of this presents new challenges for leadership and radically different forms of leadership development. The Leadership Foundation is committed to respond, to refresh and renew, and in my interactive presentation I will cover:

  • Leading in the sector
  • Leading institutions
  • Leading people
  • The leadership journey to 2020
  • What will good look like?
  • Questions and Answers
